Martha, I had the chance to visit Francis Bacon's studio, which was transported from London and put back together exactly as it was in the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin. Here it is.

Yeah, and this was actually a whole garage sized room that looked like this! Sure makes me feel better about the state of my own little studio.

Went to the Calder exhibit at Seattle Art Museum. His desk was just a small part of the grand storm of the studio where he put together the mobiles, etc. It's an amazing show, btw. I wonder where it travels to next? It's here in Seattle thru April 2010.

If Calder's show is coming down to the Bay Area next, I'll try and get up there and see it.
