House of Mystery Cover Art

Which of these weird-ass houses do you think would look best on the cover of my next book, House of Mystery? The book deals with mysteries large and small, everything from how we evolved, why we make art,  and why the hell humans are so dang adventurous, to where my mother's girdle went and disappeared to. There are poems about Saint Catherine, a disgruntled woman in search of a vacuum cleaner bag, Jesus and his miracles, Mona Lisa, Neanderthal humor, and the Voyager space probes leaving our "home" solar system, among others. Which of these images would work best, and why? Thanks for your help - I am having a tough time with choosing.

Spoiled for choice there, aren't you?

I wouldn't take my word on this, but for whatever reason, I was drawn to that less concrete first image.

Love, love, love the first one.
Love, love, the island rising to the house (#4).
Love the gold icon house at night (#7).

Can't wait for the book!

Thanks for your input, gals. It seems like everyone I ask is voting for artistic renderings rather than a photograph of a weird house that doesn't resonate with mystery in the same way as a more abstract/artistic painting or collage suggesting a house, including my editor at Saturnalia. I am going to spend the next few days looking for more artistic renderings of houses. Thanks for getting the ball rolling!

Well, don't reject a 'real' msytery house if it suddenly calls out to you.

Sounds like a really fun book! I agree, an artistic rendering rather than a photo.

Thanks, everyone. I am continuing my search for more "artistic renderings" of a book about dark matter, a leg of lamb on a spit, nuclear annihilation, artichokes, black holes, the mummification process, camellia petals, etc. It's kinda fun looking at all this art. Will post /announce the winner soon.
